Time: Tue, Jul 23 - Thu, Jul 25, 9:00 am - 1:00 pm
Location: Hidden Valley Nature Center
The Adventure Club members will learn to work and play alongside each other as they develop their sense of adventure. Participants will experience the basics of canoeing, mountain biking, hiking and leave-no-trace camping through structured and thoughtful approaches. The program will be centered around Little Dyer Pond, a 110-acre Great Pond with no public access. Little Dyer is a serene gem and offers local youth an authentic backcountry experience with the convenience of a day program.
Over the course of the three days participants will have the opportunity to learn by challenging themselves in a supportive setting. Our instructors will also provide guidance for future adventures by teaching what to pack and how to prepare before heading out on the trail. Our hope is that this experience opens the door for a future of exploration and adventure for participants and their families at HVNC and beyond.
