Nature Journaling: Story Mapping

Hidden Valley Nature Center | Sat, Aug 7 | All Ages

Time: Sat, Aug 7, 1:00 pm - 4:00 pm

Location: Hidden Valley Nature Center

Join instructor Andrea Lani for a Story Mapping class.

Story maps are illustrated maps that show the route traveled, interesting features encountered along the way, like cool trees or beaver ponds, and events that occur during the journey, such as a bird landing on a branch or a turtle crossing the trail. For this workshop, we’ll hike from the parking lot around the Crossbill Loop and along Warbler Way, creating our story maps as we go. When we arrive at the barn, we’ll spend some time at the picnic tables refining our maps, adding details and color, and sharing our creations. While the instructor will offer drawing tips, this will be a freeform opportunity to explore your creativity.  We’ll be outside the whole time, so dress for the weather and be prepared for bugs and bring snacks and water. The instructor will provide paper and drawing supplies.
