Experience the Sheepscot Headwaters: vast areas of forest, trickling clear streams, and habitat for endangered Atlantic Salmon. Our members at the headwaters have conserved over 1500 acres of habitat in the towns of Freedom, Liberty, Montville, and Palermo since 1991.
We invite you to explore miles of back country trails on these beautiful lands. Take a deep breath and enjoy the calm and wildlife that surround you at the wellspring of the enchanting Sheepscot River. The generosity of private landowners makes this extensive trail network possible. Please be respectful of the land to help us retain this privilege. Trails are ideal for hiking and snowshoeing, and are not as well suited for cross-country skiing as sections of the trail are steep and narrow. Come explore!
