Carolyn Gabbe

Carolyn Gabbe is an artist living and working in Nobleboro, Maine, where she and her husband Peter have owned a home on Damariscotta Lake since 2000. They love sharing their re-wilded property with their children, grandchildren and the traditional Maine summer visitors. Prior to pursuing fine art, Carolyn spent more than 20 years working in non-profit organizations, private business and associations. Her professional experience includes acting as the Director of Development for the National Cultural Alliance after the completion of her master’s degree in nonprofit management, followed by years of work as a consultant with non-profits in strategic planning and program development, as well as a consultant for the NJ State Arts Council and a peer review panelist for their Community Cultural Collaboration grants. Carolyn became a DLWA volunteer when Hydrilla was discovered in the Damariscotta Lake and they have received Lake Smart and Loon Smart status for their property.

Carolyn received her Bachelor’s degree from The George Washington University and a Master’s Degree in Arts Management from The American University. After completing the four-year professional painting program at Nelson and Leona Shanks’ Studio Incamminati School for Contemporary Realism in Philadelphia, Carolyn became a full time Maine resident.
