Emma Polhemus
Shore Corps Steward
Emma will be joining Midcoast Conservancy as a Shore Corps Steward through the Maine Conservation Corps. As a Shore Corps Steward, she’ll be working to expand nature-based solutions for healthy and resilient shorelines.
Emma grew up in Massachusetts and recently completed her bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science at the University of Vermont. During her time at UVM, she supported research on phytoplankton ecology, where her fieldwork on Lake Champlain strengthened her interest in working on and around the water after graduation. She also spent a summer interning at the University of Maine’s Darling Marine Center, and looks forward to returning to the Maine coast.
