Overnight Hut Stays at our Hidden Valley are back!
We know that overnight stays at our Hidden Valley offer a unique opportunity to connect with nature and therefore happy to announce that starting February 2, at 10am our Hipcamp site will again be open for reservations. We’re pleased to welcome our conservation community back to stays that offer space to reconnect—with nature, with place, and with moments of quiet reflection.
Winter beauty of Pond Cabin.
Reservations will be open one month at a time on the first business day of each month at 10am, and to start will be for stays at Pond Cabin and Hermit Hut. Rolling reservations in this way will allow staff and volunteers time to manage firewood supplies as well as outhouse capacity.
Additional hut and tent site openings are being planned for as well.
In order to maintain the conservation value of our lands, we met with a soil scientist to help determine safe and legal locations for new outhouses, to be built this summer. One of our highest priorities is to remain vigilant in mitigating any impacts to the ecologically sensitive areas of our preserve.
Tentatively, we are planning to build these new outhouses in June and July, and overnight stays will be impacted during that time. We will communicate this as soon as we are able.
As overnight stays return, so does the need for helping hands. Volunteers aid in keeping these facilities clean, cared for, and welcoming for all. If you’re interested in volunteering to help with upkeep, we’d love to hear from you. Please reach out to us at info@midcoastconservancy.org.
We will continue to share updates via our eNews and emails to members.
