Land Conservation Strategies

    1. Review and update Project Review Criteria as needed for evaluating both the conservation value and feasibility of completing proposed projects to ensure that conservation eff orts maximize ecological impact and align with capacity.

    2. Maintain a list of potential priority projects so that eff orts can be focused when opportunities for conservation arise.

    1. Use available ecological assessment tools such as our 30x30 data, Beginning with Habitat, and existing conservation plans in the evaluation of land projects.

    1. Develop and pursue relationships in support of our land conservation fund.

    2. Create opportunities for the Lands Committee and other volunteers to assist in project development and support.

    1. Partner with organizations working to protect the important habitat in and along the Sheepscot River.

    2. Participate in planning sessions with partner organizations such as those within the 12 Rivers Conservation Initiative to pursue joint projects.
