Overnight Hut Stays at our Hidden Valley are back!

We know that beloved overnight stays at our Hidden Valley offer a unique opportunity to connect with nature. We are working hard to bring this opportunity back to the community.

Starting in February, we will be reopening our reservation system, through HipCamp (this system is not currently open for reservations). Reservations will be open one month at a time for Pond Cabin to start, so in February, you will be able to make reservations for March. In March, you will be able to reserve stays for April. Rolling reservations in this way will allow staff time to monitor outhouse capacity and firewood stocks.

Additionally, we are planning to build 3 new outhouses this year, which is really the crux of being able to offer these overnight stays. In December, we met with a soil scientist who helped determine safe and legal locations for outhouses, as one of our highest priorities is to remain vigilant in mitigating any impacts to the ecologically sensitive areas of our preserve.

Tentatively, we are planning to build these new outhouses in June and July, typically low occupancy months, and huts will be closed during that time.

We will continue to share updates via our eNews and emails to members.
